    Below is a brief biography on each of board members.

    Larry Deaton


    Larry Deaton, originally from Brookhaven, Mississippi, moved to the Huntsville area in 1994 after obtaining a Computer Engineering degree from Mississippi State University. He has worked locally for Adtran as a senior software engineer for 17 years and spent 7 years in Austin, Texas in two small startup companies. He is married to his beautiful wife Stephanie and has two daughters, with one being diagnosed with ADHD.

    Abria Johnson


    Abria Queen Johnson is originally from Gambrills, Maryland. She has volunteered with The Special Olympics and Habitat for Humanity. She has almost six years of business experience with a biotech company in Huntsville. She spent her last three years with the company as an Account Manager covering the Southeastern United States. She is now a Financial Advisor and Group Fitness Instructor. Abria's goal is to use her enthusiam for helping others and experience in business management to assist AC towards its mission.

    Josh Dowd

    Josh Dowd was born and raised in Huntsville. He obtained his Bachelor's Degree from Auburn University in Public Relations. Currently he is attending the University of Alabama in Birmingham where he will graduate with his Master's in Occupational Therapy in 2012. He has worked on contract for the past few years for local families in the area providing companionship, social mentoring and as a peer buddy for individuals with AS.

    Linda Knowles

    Linda Knowles is from Huntsville and is the parent of three children, one of whom is a college graduate with Asperger's Syndrome. She has worked as an advocate in the Madison City School system and is a founding member of a social group created for AS young adults. She works with emergency first-responders to improve techniques used with those with special needs.

    Aaron Tanner

    Aaron Tanner was born and raised in North Alabama and holds a Bachelor's of Science degree in Geography with a minor in Emergency Management from Jacksonville State University. He is currently taking additional classes at UAH. He enjoys maps, research and writing. He is involved in various AS/HFA activities in the Huntsville area and works to improve the lives of those in our area with AS.
