Teen With Aspergers Starts Own Soap Making Business

By Aaron Tanner

Spencer Kelly is a teenager from the Detroit, Michigan area. In 2016 he started a business selling biodegradable soap as a way of paying his father back after his bike got stolen. He has now grossed over $100,000 in sales, has given presentations on being an entrepreneur with Aspergers and more importantly, has a healthy online business, and several stores in southeastern Michigan carry his product.

I agree with Spencer Kelly that entrepreneurship should be considered an option for those with Aspergers who have difficulties functioning or landing a job in traditional business environments. Having a freelance writing job has helped me overcome some of my challenges associated with having Aspergers.
